Brain Teasers

Most of us already are aware that keeping our physical bodies active and healthy is important in preventing illness, and feeling good. This is the same attitude we need to take with our brain health. Anything that is considered healthy and beneficial for the rest of your body is also considered healthy for your brain as it ages. There are a few things you can do specifically to ward off memory loss. Most importantly EXERCISE YOUR BRAIN!

Exercise Your Brain
Anything that challenges your mind causing you to learn new information or skills is considered an exercise. Here are some good ideas for challenging your brain.

  • Learning a new language
  • Socialization with others
  • Doing “brain teasers” like crossword puzzles, word finds, playing word games, etc.
  • Switching careers, or volunteer at a new place
  • Reading
  • Keeping up on current events
  • Starting a new hobby
  • Learning to play an instrument
  • Taking classes that interest you

Here are some brain teasers for you to try:
