After receiving a diagnosis, it is important that you are able to find a network of support for both you the patient and for those affected by the diagnosis. We have compiled a list of
websites that both our clinicians and patients have found useful in the past. These sites include educational information as well as resources in the Connecticut area for those
dealing with a memory disorder.
Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association
The site has up to date lists of support groups and resources in the state.
Connecticut Agencies on Aging
A directory for all of the Area Agencies on Aging, and the resources they offer. Each Area Agency on Aging site contains information on the statewide respite care program.
Alzheimer’s Association Clinical Trials
A complete list of current clinical trials and those which are recruiting in the United States.
Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study
The site has a list of clinical trial that are part of the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study.
Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Referral Center
A site about Alzheimer’s disease that is a service from the National Institute on Aging. This site has useful information on the disease itself, as well as the national initiatives that are
currently taking place to research the disease.
Alzheimer’s Research Forum
A site created for researchers. It highlights recent research that has shed light on Alzheimer’s disease, and is focused more on the science behind the disease.
The Alzheimer’s Information Site
Funded by the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research, the site has a wealth of information regarding care of people with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as resources for support, information on
the disease and research being done on it, chats, and forums.
Alzwell
A caregiver support site, with information on the disease, and how to care for someone with Alzheimer’s, as well as support chats, and forums.
Dementia.com
A more general site with information on dementia, as well as Alzheimer’s. It also has information on resources, treatments, and literature on the subject.
